Chicken Wings Recipe

  • Author: Luna
  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

These crispy baked chicken wings are so crunchy, you’ll swear they were fried—but without the mess or the extra oil! Perfectly seasoned and baked to golden perfection, they’re juicy on the inside and irresistibly crispy on the outside. Ideal for game day, parties, or a quick family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings (drumettes and flats separated)
  • 1 tablespoon aluminum-free baking powder (NOT baking soda)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper (or black pepper if preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil (avocado, canola, or vegetable oil)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
  2. Pat dry the chicken wings thoroughly with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the wings with baking powder, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and white pepper until evenly coated.
  4. Drizzle with neutral oil and toss again to coat.
  5. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack, leaving space between each wing.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes, then flip the wings and bake for another 25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Optional: Toss the wings in your favorite sauce (like Buffalo or BBQ) while still hot.
  8. Serve immediately with dipping sauces and sides of your choice.

Notes

  • Baking Powder: Make sure it’s aluminum-free to avoid a metallic taste.
  • Extra Crispy Tip: Let the wings air-dry in the fridge for 1–2 hours before baking.
  • Don’t Overcrowd: Space out the wings on the rack for even crispiness.
  • Reheating: Reheat leftover wings in the oven at 450°F for 10–12 minutes to restore crispiness.
